1. Name of Project/Needs: Ferrying sick/disabled to church
The objective of this project is to make the sick or disabled to feel a sense on belonging to the church. That the church will inspire them to mingle with other parishioners. Hence, their access to the outside world would be better and that they are also included in the society.
The Prospects’ Roles & Involvement are that we would need several volunteers to form a committee to plan out the sequence of fetching the sick and disabled via a car or driving. Next, members who are in the committee should also be a driver so that there will be more people to share different timing of duty. So Duty roster will be done and published by the leader to ensure that there is a balance in the arrangement with the members based on their availability.
2. Name of Project/Needs: Welcome committee for new parishioners
The objective for the New Projects / Ministries is to welcome the new parishioners who moved into the the district of Woodlands, Marsiling or nearby Sembawang towns. The welcome committee will need to take to first step by interacting with them and introduce them to the communities in our parish. For examples like CNC, Chinese Community, POSAP, Malayalam Community, Tamil Community and many more as well as our priests and church staff.
The Prospects’ Roles & Involvement are to show Hospitality and be Sociable.
3. Name of Project/Needs: Migrant Workers Support
Objective for the New Projects / Ministries :
This project intends to support the needs of migrant workers regardless of religion and ethnicity. As taken from one of the message of the late Pope John Paul II for World Migration day, July 25, 1995 “ In the Church no one is a stranger, and the Church is not foreign to anyone, anywhere. As a sacrament of unity and thus a sign and a binding force for the whole human race, the Church is the place where illegal immigrants are also recognized and accepted as brothers and sisters. It is the task of various dioceses actively to ensure that these people, who are obliged to live outside the safety net of civil society, may find a sense of brotherhood in the Christian community”.
Prospects’ Roles & Involvement:
This is intended for people who in one way or another wants to help migrant workers in terms of: (a) hotline in terms of need-as adviser, (b) donations, (c) legal assistance, and (e) occasional programs like migrants day.
4. Name of Project/Needs: Seniors
Objective for the New Projects / Ministries :
- To make friends while learning or teaching
Prospects’ Roles & Involvement:
- Exploring the gifts they possess.
To choose from a list of activities or areas of exploration the application of personal gifts/ expertise/
experience towards sharing with the greater community their contributions through fellowship.
Example : Sewing / dancing/ games / cooking / aged/children's home visits / networking of resources for
community benefit eg: donation drives / visiting various places of interest / music / yoga /
5. Name of Project/Needs: Church Cleaning
Objective for the New Projects / Ministries :
To help people realize that while we come to the Church to express ourselves spiritually, we should, at the same time, also be aware that it is our responsibility to keep the Church clean. One way of feeling connected to the Parish would by helping to keep it clean. A new beginning of 2012, we make resolutions and commitments to live in a better healthier ways…. Physically and spiritually. In spiritual life it is essential to have greater commitments, involvement and faithfulness to the church and the community. Church of St. Anthony is our own. It is our community, our space and our place of worship. Feel proud of our church. STAY CONNECTED.
Prospects’ Roles & Involvement: * Cleaning the toilets, rooms, canteen, and staircase and worship hall once a month. * Cleaning the church floor, windows and other areas is low impact aerobic activities that engage all core muscle groups and helps to burn extra calories. Well, why then wait…..? Please spare few of your valuable hours a month to keep the church facilities spic and span? Let us put our faith in action.
6. Name of Project/Needs: Decoration team for church
Objective for the New Projects / Ministries :
A group of parishioners willing to give their time to help in the decoration of the church Prospects’ Roles & Involvement: Be involved in planning & decoration of the church. Examples are like Advent, Easter and Many more.
7. Name of Project/Needs: Inter-faith group
Objective for the New Projects / Ministries :
- Coming together to learn more about other faith

8. Name of Project/Needs: Building Maintenance Team
Objective for the New Projects / Ministries :
To provide M&E support to the church building, support includes keeping track of the existing fixtures such as quantity and types of lightings, quantity and types of electrical sockets, mapping, tracing and documentation of electrical distribution boxes, fire fighting equipment, maintaining of past, present and future building plans. Essentially ensure all M&E related issues are properly, Documented, accounted and maintained either by the team or qualified contractor.
9. Name of Project/Needs: Environmental Promotion group
Objective for the New Projects / Ministries :
- To promote environmental awareness in the parish of St Anthony
- To improve knowledge of parishioners in area of environmental conservation
- To promote energy saving in the parish
- To promote recycling
10. Name of Project/Needs: Health Promotion group
Objective for the New Projects / Ministries :
- To promote health awareness in the church of St Anthony
- To improve knowledge of parishioners in area of personal health
- To promote healthy lifestyle
- To promote exercises
11. Name of Project/Needs: Journey with individual who is in process of marriage annulment.
Objective for the New Projects / Ministries :
Some knowledge of civil law or/and canon law. To be trained as
Counselor to provide information on marriage annulment to these individuals.
12. Name of Project/Needs: Journey with couples preparing for marriage.
Objective for the New Projects / Ministries :
Helping these couples to understand
the challenges in marriage and also to know the channel and means of help when preparing their church wedding and preparing themselves mentally and spiritually. Also to provide information on the different marriage workshops available. Main objectives is to let them continue their journey and involvement in parish after their wedding.
Prospects’ Roles & Involvement: Financial Planning help (with finance background), counselor to the
couples to answer questions on marriage, establishing a long-term relationship with these couples.
13. Name of Project/Needs: Hospital Visit Group
If you are:
Keen to visit and keep company with the sick in hospital
Be a pillar of strength to them when they are weak
Empathise with their suffering
Arrange for a priest to anoint the sick when requested
Share the Word of God when asked
Then, the Hospital Visit Group is for you!
14. Name of Project/Needs: Homebound Visitation Group
If you would like to:
Befriend those who are homebound for various reasons
Empathise with their condition Liaise with the various church groups who might be of help to them
Be a line of communication between them and the parish
Clarify their concerns on spiritual matters
Then, the Homebound Visitation Group is for you!
